Know What to Expect Every Step of the Way

Building a custom home shouldn’t feel uncertain or unpredictable.

At Dabar Home Builders, we’ve refined our construction process to deliver beautiful, high-quality homes in approximately 28–32 weeks, depending on the design and site conditions.

This organized and efficient timeline helps you:

  • Coordinate selling your current home
  • Manage financing or bridge loans
  • Feel confident from day one

You’ll always know what’s happening and what comes next, with weekly updates from our team throughout the entire build.

Phase 1: Pre-Construction (Before the 28–32 Week Clock Starts)

Timeline varies based on permits and approvals

  • Site prep planning
  • Finalized design selections

Once permits are approved, the official build timeline begins.

Week 1–4: Site Prep & Foundation

What Happens During This Phase:

  • Land clearing and leveling
  • Tree removal (as needed)
  • Excavation
  • Crawlspace or foundation installation
  • Utility prep and rough-in planning
  • Initial inspections

What You Receive:

 

  • Progress photos
  • Timeline update
  • Walkthrough explanation (optional)

Week 5–10: Framing & Shell Construction

What Happens:

  • Structural framing
  • Roof installation
  • Windows and exterior doors
  • Weatherproofing
  • Exterior elevation begins

What You See:

Your home takes shape: walls, roofline, and layout become real.

Week 11–16: Mechanical Systems & Rough-Ins

What’s Completed:

  • Electrical rough-in
  • Plumbing rough-in
  • HVAC installation
  • Insulation
  • Interior wall prep
  • Additional inspections

Communication During This Phase:

We walk you through where everything will be located inside the walls (optional but often requested).

Week 17–22: Interior Finishes Begin

This Is Where Your Home Starts to Shine:

  • Drywall installation & finishing
  • Interior paint
  • Flooring (hardwood, tile, carpet)
  • Cabinets & built-ins
  • Countertops
  • Trim & molding

Selections:

All selections made earlier come to life during this phase.

Week 23–28: Exterior Finishing + Final Details

What Happens:

  • Siding
  • Exterior trim
  • Stone, brick, or specialty finishes
  • Final grading around the home
  • Driveway or walkway prep

This brings the exterior aesthetic together with your preferred style.

Week 29–32: Final Fixtures, Touch-Ups & Walkthrough

Final Completion Phase Includes:

  • Electrical fixtures
  • Plumbing fixtures
  • Lighting installation
  • Mirrors, shelving, accessories
  • Final paint touch-ups
  • Appliance installation
  • Final cleaning
  • Quality control inspection
  • Official walkthrough with you

Once everything is perfect, your home is move-in ready.
